Headteacher’s Welcome
On behalf of the children, staff and governors I am delighted to welcome you to Delapre Primary School.
I am very proud to have been the Headteacher of this school since 2012.
The ethos of the school is based on our motto ‘Purpose with Care’. We have always believed in providing a disciplined and traditional approach to education in an environment that is surrounded with care and thoughtfulness.
We want every individual who attends our school to strive and be known as ‘A Delapre Child’.
We want the children to wear their school badge with pride and honour.
We want the children to demonstrate a combination of both our school vision and our curriculum vision. Hardworking and resilience form the basis of our school vision while being thoughtful, knowledgeable and a communicator represent the vision of the Curriculum.
We believe that children who become Delapre Primary children deserve the best. We ensure that personal development is at the heart of what we teach – we want our children to grow and flourish into active, responsible citizens.
Our aim is to help the children succeed by reaching their potential in every aspect of school life; academic, social, personal, physical and emotional. We have very high expectations of behaviour at Delapre. Visitors often comment on the calm, purposeful atmosphere and excellent relationships, which are so important to us all.
Children, families, staff and governors work in close partnership to create enriching learning opportunities in all areas of the curriculum. Our aim is to encourage children to develop the skills they need for later life, with a very strong focus on pupils embedding learning from the breadth of the curriculum into their long-term memory. We track the children’s progress very carefully and make sure everyone knows what the next steps for learning are.
Our extra-curricular activities compliment the core curriculum and provide opportunities for pupils in wider enrichment activities, such as experiences, clubs and visits, which ensures each and every pupil leaves us at the end of Year 6 ready to relish all future opportunities and challenges.
Delapre Primary is an inclusive school where every single child matters and where children are valued for all their different strengths and qualities.
